Thai FDA has published the key points of MOPH Notification No. 474, which amends the packaged-food labelling rules in Notification No. 450. Sesame joins the allergen list, sulphites and lactose move to warning statements, and digital labels become an option. The notification is awaiting Royal Gazette publication.
Thailand's Ministry of Industry said on 15 October that the ministerial regulation making solar panels subject to a mandatory standard is being published in the Royal Gazette. It takes effect immediately on publication, with October 2026 as the target. Licences are applied for with IEC 61730 test reports and an ISO 9001 certificate.
Thai FDA's Drug Control Division has restated the renewal timeline for drugs registered before 13 October 2019. The fine-free filing deadline of 12 October has passed. Applications can still be filed until 13 November with a daily fine of up to 500 baht, after which renewal is no longer possible.
Thai FDA has added Malaysia's Medical Device Authority (MDA) as the eighth foreign authority whose device assessments it accepts. Only devices approved under the MDA–Thai FDA regulatory reliance programme qualify, effective 6 October 2026.
TISI has published the principles of ministerial regulations making three types of EV charging equipment subject to mandatory standards. The requirement would apply to Mode 2 charging cable sets and Mode 3 AC chargers 180 days after Gazette publication, and to Mode 4 DC chargers after one year. Comments close on 29 October.
TISI has published draft ministerial regulations designating DC connectors for PV systems (TIS 62852) and low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies for PV systems (TIS 61439 Part 8) as mandatory standards. The drafts use the urgent-designation route with no transition period. Comments close on 24 October.
TISI is consulting on the principles of a ministerial regulation making stainless-steel food containers and utensils subject to the mandatory standard TIS 3206-2567. Thirteen product types are covered, from pots, pans and spoons to chopsticks and lunch boxes, with application proposed 270 days after Gazette publication.
Customs Notification No. 116/2569 requires TISI permits and certificates for vacuum vessels and their parts to be linked electronically through NSW before the import declaration. It applies from 13 October 2026.
Thai Customs has split the insect line (HS 0410.10.00) in its list of imports that need Thai FDA e-permit linkage through NSW into house cricket (001) and other (090). Both codes stay linked, from 1 October 2026.
Thai FDA has posted the Type 2 submission checklist for renewing human modern drug registrations. It covers generic, new generic and low-risk medicines, and excludes Transfer registrations whose quality dossier has not been brought up to ASEAN or ICH guidelines.
Thai FDA has issued the 23rd addition to its list of experts and organisations that evaluate medical device technical documentation. Alongside three individual experts, the Electrical and Electronic Products Testing Center (PTEC) under NSTDA has been added.
The Thai FDA Medical Device Control Division announced that its new system for medical-device clinical trial applications would open on 9 September 2026. Teams preparing new applications should check account access and the revised submission workflow.
