Most Thai product approvals are issued in the name of a business inside Thailand. The overseas manufacturer or brand owner prepares the testing and the documents, but its name does not go on the licence. Once the first distributor's name is on the registration, that relationship decides the fate of the licence.

The moment you want to replace a distributor, or let several distributors sell one brand, this structure gets in the way. License holding solves it before the registration is filed.

Doosigan's Thai entity takes the holder role (the local responsible party) for the product. The brand can choose, add and replace distribution partners without having signed the licence over to any of them. Commercial distribution rights and pricing stay in the agreement between the brand and its partners.

The weight of the holder role differs by product. For TISI products the licence belongs to the importer, so holding it means acting as importer as well — it is designed together with Importer of Record. For cosmetics, where the notifier is tied to a premises, holding is possible within the scope of the premises approval Doosigan already has. Which products qualify is answered by comparing our existing licences and facilities with the product's requirements.

This is not one licence automatically shared by several independent importers. There is one holder; who imports and who receives under that holder is designed to fit the regulation and the agreement.

A holder structure is hard to change after registration, so the following is put in writing before filing.

• Brand and distribution rights — the holder is Doosigan; the trademark and distribution decisions stay with the brand. Sales scope per partner
• Access to documents — who keeps and who may see manufacturer technical files, test reports and registration records
• Adding or replacing partners — the regulatory steps and documents needed to attach a new importer
• Renewals and changes — who initiates and who approves model additions, label changes and responses to standard revisions
• Exit — whether the holder role moves to the brand's own entity or a new partner at the end, and what happens with products that cannot be transferred (such as DLD registrations)

With the exit terms agreed at the start, a change of partner does not take the product off the market.

1. Confirm the holder requirement per product — which authority governs it and what that authority requires of the holder
2. Compare with what Doosigan already holds — whether our existing licences and premises approvals cover it, or an additional approval is needed
3. Fix roles and agreement — responsibilities and exit terms among the brand, Doosigan and the distribution partners
4. Register — testing, audits and filing follow the procedure on each regulatory page; only the holder name is Doosigan's
5. Connect partners and operate — attach partners to the import and supply structure and keep managing renewals and changes

If you already have a Thai entity, we first look at whether using it as holder is the simpler option. License holding is not the answer in every case; it is the answer when you do not want the licence tied to one partner.
